Austin J. Garrison, D.D.S. is a 2007 graduate of The University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston. Dentistry has been in his blood from the start. He had the opportunity to work in his father’s Katy, Texas dental office from a young age. During these times, he soaked up dental techniques and patient management skills from his father Gary J. Garrison, D.D.S., as well as lifelong friends and mentors Tommy Harrison, D.D.S., and Mike Wells, D.D.S. When Austin graduated, Dr. Gary Garrison sold this practice in Katy in which he had practiced dentistry for 28 years. The father/son team set off to begin a new practice in the north hills of San Antonio. Dr. Gary’s experience and passion for the profession have combined with Dr. Austin’s enthusiasm and knowledge of new-age techniques to form a proficient dental team.
In his youth, Austin was a strong athlete and a 4 year member of the successful Katy High School football program. He attended The University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology in just 3 years. After moving to Houson for Dental School, Austin reconnected with his high school sweetheart, Ashley, and they were married 2 years later. Ashley teaches History and is the head girls' soccer coach at Lady Bird Johnson High School in Northeast ISD They are both very excited about being part of the community of North San Antonio.
Dr. Austin’s mother, Susie Garrison, has been a teacher for Katy ISD for years but is now a major part of the dental team as office manager of Garrison Family Dental. Austin has a twin sister, Emily Grigsby, who resides with her husband, Will in Austin, Texas. Emily is a Master Degreed registered nurse and professor of nursing in Austin while Will has his Ph.D. in Physics and works for BAE Systems. |
